Jharkhand BJP delegation meets Amit Shah to discuss state issues
A high-level delegation from the Jharkhand BJP, led by State President Aditya Sahu and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi to discuss current political and organizational issues in the state.
The meeting occurred amid rising political tension regarding the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026 (MMDR Bill). The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and other opposition parties are preparing for a statewide movement against the bill, which they argue threatens the state's mineral resources and rights.
In a separate development in Jharkhand, Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey defended the government's decision to cancel the JSSC-CGL recruitment examinations. She described the move as a “bold decision” intended to maintain public trust in institutions, noting that while the cancellation affects many candidates, it was necessary to address emerging irregularities.
