Jharkhand Cricket Association files BCCI complaint over scoring error
The Jharkhand Cricket Association (JCA) has submitted a formal complaint to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding a scoring error during a Women's Under-19 T20 Trophy match against Uttarakhand. The JCA alleges that an official scorer failed to credit a completed run during the final over of the match, resulting in a one-run defeat that eliminated Jharkhand from the tournament.
During the chase at the Lady Amritbai Daga College Ground in Nagpur, Jharkhand was dismissed for 133, falling just short of Uttarakhand's total of 134 for 6. The JCA contends that at the 19.4-over mark, a batter was run out while attempting a second run, but the scorer only recorded the dismissal and omitted the first run that had already been completed.
The association noted that the ground's scoreboard operator had updated the tally to include the disputed run, leading players to believe they needed two runs to win or one to tie. Despite immediate confrontations with the scorer following the match, the error was not corrected on the official record.
