Jharkhand government announces digital hospital upgrades and school expansions
The Jharkhand government has launched several initiatives to upgrade public infrastructure in the healthcare and education sectors.
In healthcare, the state plans to digitize all 24 district Sadar hospitals to improve transparency and resource monitoring. Through a memorandum of understanding with technology partner Rodic Consultants, hospitals will install digital information boards to display the real-time availability of doctors and medicines. This move aligns with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission to enhance digital health identities and telemedicine services.
In education, the state cabinet has approved ₹721.43 crore to expand the School of Excellence network. The initiative will develop 100 additional government schools, bringing the total number of such institutions to 180. This expansion aims to provide modern facilities and improved learning environments within the government school system to reduce reliance on private institutions.
