Jharkhand High Court expands judicial strength and announces staff vacancies

The Jharkhand High Court in Ranchi has expanded its judicial strength to 16 judges following the swearing-in of three new judges: Justice Manoj Prasad, Justice Akhil Kumar, and Justice Ram Sharma. Chief Justice M S Sonak administered the oaths of office and secrecy during a ceremony at the High Court premises.

Prior to their appointments, Justice Manoj Prasad served as Principal District and Sessions Judge in Garhwa, Justice Akhil Kumar as PDJ in Sahibganj, and Justice Ram Sharma as PDJ in Daltonganj.

Additionally, the High Court has announced vacancies for 25 Law Researchers/Research Associates on a contractual basis. Eligible applicants include fresh law graduates or postgraduates from Bar Council of India-recognized institutions, as well as final-year law students. The position offers a monthly remuneration of Rs. 40,000, and applications must be submitted via email between September 7, 2026, and September 28, 2026.
