Jharkhand recruitment scam: Kingpin confesses to rigging CDPO seats

The Jharkhand CID has expanded its investigation into recruitment irregularities following a confession by prime accused Abhay Kumar Tiwari. Tiwari, a former marketing manager at the outsourcing agency TSR Data Processing Private Limited (TDPL), alleged that the 2026 Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) examination was rigged to favor candidates from other states in exchange for bribes.

Tiwari claimed that TDPL set a minimum rate of approximately Rs 10 lakh per candidate. He further implicated former Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) Chairman L. Khiangte and former member Ajita Bhattacharya in manipulating interview boards to benefit specific individuals.

Specific allegations include a Rs 15 lakh arrangement involving a candidate named Rajak and a Rs 10 lakh payment to Bhattacharya’s personal assistant regarding the selection of candidate Kajal Bharti. Tiwari also identified an ITI project manager named Krishna as a middleman for other candidates. L. Khiangte has already been arrested and is in judicial custody, while the CID continues to investigate the full extent of the network and financial transactions.
