Jharkhand student protests spark political conflict between NDA and Soren government
Political tensions are escalating in Jharkhand following ongoing student protests regarding paper leaks. Leaders from the NDA alliance, including Bihar Minister Dilip Jaiswal and JDU spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, have criticized the Hemant Soren-led government. They accused the administration of failing to ensure accountability and allegedly attempting to suppress protesters by cutting electricity and generator connections at demonstration sites.
Protesting students are demanding a CBI investigation and the cancellation of affected examinations. Meanwhile, BJP leaders, including Bihar President Sanjay Sarawagi, have claimed that the Congress and JMM are indifferent to student interests, noting that paper leaks have occurred in several opposition-ruled states.
In a separate but related critique of the regional political climate, JDU MLA Shyam Rajak called for the dismissal of the Jharkhand Education Minister and urged for fast-track courts to punish those involved in paper leak syndicates.
