JHC denies responsibility for Iprev's R$ 97 million Banco Master investment
JHC, the former mayor of Maceió and candidate for the Governor of Alagoas, has addressed the controversy regarding the investment of R$ 97 million from the Maceió Public Servants' Pension Institute (Iprev) into Banco Master bonds.
In a video statement, JHC denied personal responsibility for the investment decision, asserting that Iprev possesses the autonomy to manage its own funds and that he never issued orders regarding these specific investments. He emphasized that he is not a target of the ongoing investigations into Banco Master and reassured retirees and pensioners that their benefits remain secure, noting that Iprev's assets have increased fourfold in recent years.
