Jhon Arias emerges as key player for Palmeiras
Colombian forward Jhon Arias, 28, joined Brazil's Palmeiras in February and within six months has become the team's most important offensive piece. Coach Abel Ferreira deploys him across the front line – right wing, attacking midfield, second striker and even as a left‑inside forward – giving Palmeiras a versatility few Brasileirao players possess.
Since his arrival Arias has recorded seven goals and three assists in all competitions, helping Palmeiras lead the Brazilian Serie A with 44 points while also contesting the Copa do Brasil and the Copa Libertadores. The CIES observatory ranked him among the ten best prospects for the 2026 World Cup with a rating of 84.5, boosting his market value to levels unprecedented for a Colombian player at a Brazilian club.
