Inter Milan targets Bologna defender Jhon Lucumi as transfer talks stall

Inter Milan continue to monitor Bologna centre‑back Jhon Lucumi, whose €28 million release clause expires on 15 July. The club is exploring ways to lower the cost, including possible player‑swap deals that could involve Kristjan Asllani.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel that there are no active negotiations between Inter and Bologna for Lucumi. While Inter also list Trevoh Chalobah and other defenders as options, they have not progressed beyond scouting. Juventus have also been linked to the Colombian but likewise have not made an offer. The situation remains in a holding pattern pending a reduction in Bologna’s asking price after the clause deadline.

If Bologna reduces its expectations, Inter could move forward; otherwise the defender stays in Bologna’s squad for the upcoming season.
