Jhonny Rivera opens estate to shelter elderly earthquake victims

Following a 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Colombia on August 10, singer Jhonny Rivera has opened his estate near Pereira to provide shelter for elderly victims. The earthquake and subsequent rains caused significant damage in the Risaralda department, leaving many residents without safe housing.

Rivera and his wife, Jenny López, have been leading efforts to collect and distribute donations for those affected. The singer’s family is also assisting with the relief efforts; his mother has taken an active role in caring for the group of elderly citizens who arrived at the property by bus after their previous accommodations became uninhabitable.
