JHS Pedals and Coppersound launch Short Circuit DIY pedal kit
JHS Pedals has partnered with DIY specialist Coppersound to launch the Short Circuit, a $119 build-at-home stompbox kit. Unlike previous JHS DIY releases which featured simpler assembly, this kit utilizes a rugged industrial chassis and a full PCB that requires advanced soldering skills and a variety of electronic components, including transistors, resistors, and capacitors.
The Short Circuit is designed as a versatile three-in-one pedal, offering Boost, Drive, and Fuzz modes via a single mode switch. Controls include volume, gain, and filter settings.
The release holds personal significance for JHS Pedals founder Josh Scott, as it was the project he was developing prior to a severe mountain biking accident last year. Scott noted, “This is a bit of a personal marker for me,” referring to the project's completion following his recovery.
