Jhye Richardson targets Test cricket revival in India series
Australian fast bowler Jhye Richardson is aiming to revitalize his Test cricket career during an upcoming red-ball series against India A in Puducherry, starting September 22. As he approaches his 30th birthday, Richardson expressed awareness of the professional risks and the abrupt nature of career endings, particularly following a history of shoulder injuries and the recent loss of his central contract.
Richardson intends to use the series to build momentum toward the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. To prepare for the demands of red-ball cricket, he recently completed a county stint with Yorkshire, where he worked alongside England Test captain Joe Root. Despite previous injury setbacks that have limited his appearances in the longest format of the game, Richardson remains focused on performing well in the upcoming matches to secure his place in the national side.
