Ji Chang-wook and Imada Mio star in new Disney+ co-production
The South Korean-Japanese co-produced romantic drama ‘The Season of Falling in Love’ has premiered on Disney+. The series features Ji Chang-wook and Imada Mio in lead roles.
Set on the Japanese remote island of Charyo, the story follows a former star spatial designer, Lee Yoo-bin (played by Ji Chang-wook), who seeks a fresh start after a career decline. He encounters Baek-ham Ha-rim (played by Imada Mio), an optimistic strawberry farmer living with a chronic illness. The production is a collaboration between South Korea’s Studio Dragon and Nippon Television, utilizing a dual-director system to blend Korean emotional storytelling with Japanese visual aesthetics.
This project marks Imada Mio’s first lead role in a South Korean-Japanese co-production, involving bilingual script work. The series also features Nam Yoon-su and Kumada Rinka.
