Jiang Meiyi faces controversy over TVB volunteer filming allegations

A controversy has emerged regarding the filming of the TVB variety program ‘A Good Person’, involving Hong Kong actress Jiang Meiyi and a pest control expert, Chen Jialuo (known as Ah Chen).

Chen recently shared details on Threads regarding a filming session from two years ago, alleging that Jiang’s participation was superficial. He claimed that while the program depicted her performing volunteer work, she only stayed for approximately two hours, leaving 98% of the actual pest control work to be completed by him. Chen further alleged that Jiang questioned if there were discounts for her own home and criticized the cleanliness of the environment. He also accused the production crew of taking protective clothing that he had purchased with his own funds.

In response to the online backlash, Chen disclosed that he struggles with severe social anxiety and manic disorder, stemming from a difficult childhood. Public reaction has been divided; while some netizens sympathize with the pest control worker, others have questioned the timing of the allegations, noting they were made two years after the event occurred.
