Jibril Rajoub initiates Palestinian faction contacts for national dialogue

Jibril Rajoub, a member of the Fatah Central Committee, has initiated contacts with various Palestinian factions to prepare for a comprehensive national dialogue. This initiative, mandated by Fatah's Central Committee, aims to bring together all Palestinian groups, including Hamas, to address critical issues such as a national formula for elections.

Observers suggest the dialogue may lead to an agreement to postpone elections due to current conditions. The Fatah Central Committee has called on President Mahmoud Abbas to request that Egypt host the talks. A committee led by Rajoub, including members Majed Faraj, Mohammed Shtayyeh, Zakaria al-Zubaidi, and Ahmed Abu Holli, has been formed to oversee the process.

In a related development, Rajoub met with the new Egyptian Ambassador to Palestine, Bassem Abdel Hadi. During the meeting, they discussed strengthening Palestinian-Egyptian relations and the ongoing efforts to stop aggression against the Palestinian people. Rajoub emphasized Egypt's pivotal role in supporting the Palestinian cause.
