Jide Kosoko discusses health battle and working with Funke Akindele

Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has revealed that he has been living with diabetes since 1996. During an appearance on the Africana List podcast, Kosoko addressed criticisms regarding his lifestyle, stating that he manages his condition while continuing his daily activities. He also disclosed that he recently underwent a colonoscopy as part of a routine five-year medical checkup to screen for potential cancer development.

In the same interview, Kosoko commented on the demanding work ethic of filmmaker Funke Akindele. He noted that working with Akindele can be intense due to her extreme attention to detail, mentioning that she may require a single scene to be shot up to 15 times or request re-shoots on subsequent days to ensure specific details, such as props, are correct.
