Jihlava hockey fans charged after arena attack

Three men face up to three years in prison following a violent incident during a hockey match between HC Dukla Jihlava and Banes Motor České Budějovice at the Horácká multifunkční aréna on September 1.

Police report that the suspects, aged 18, 30, and 31, physically attacked visiting fans and security personnel using punches and kicks. One individual allegedly attempted to strike a fan in the head. The aggression extended to security staff when they attempted to intervene. The violence caused panic among spectators, with security footage showing families with small children fleeing the arena to avoid the conflict.

Following a public appeal for assistance, one suspect turned himself in to the police, while the other two were quickly identified. The men have been charged with rioting and attempted bodily harm.
