Jihlava public transport undergoes major fleet renewal

The Jihlava City Transport Company is undertaking a significant modernization of its vehicle fleet. This major investment includes the acquisition of twenty new vehicles this year, with plans to add another twenty-five new vehicles next year, representing approximately half of the fleet used in daily operations.

Among the new additions are three partial trolleybuses equipped with batteries, allowing them to operate in areas without overhead lines. Six additional partial trolleybuses and six traditional trolleybuses are expected to join the fleet soon. The renewal also includes three new buses, a tour bus, and a specialized maintenance platform for overhead line repairs.

Radim Rovner, director of the transport company, noted that the battery capability provides greater flexibility for route planning and responding to service disruptions. Each partial trolleybus represents an investment of approximately 15.5 million CZK.
