Jihostroj volleyball club debuts in extraliga with men and women

The Jihostroj volleyball club is entering a historic period as both its men's and women's teams prepare to compete in the extraliga for the first time. The women's team is set to make its top-tier debut this Saturday, with the primary goal of maintaining their position in the elite league.

Club president František Adler expressed confidence that the women's promotion is a significant milestone rather than a temporary occurrence. Captain Veronika Semerádová noted that the transition to the highest level will require a new training regimen and increased commitment from the players.

The men's team will begin their season two weeks after the women. To bolster the roster during Josef Leština's recovery from knee surgery, the club has signed experienced hitter Dominik Ducháč. Oliver Sedláček has been named the new captain of the men's squad.
