Jihyo of TWICE leaves JYP Entertainment after 21 years

Jihyo, the leader of the K-pop girl group TWICE, has announced her departure from JYP Entertainment after 21 years with the agency. The singer, who joined the company as a child, shared the news via a handwritten letter posted to her Instagram account.

Jihyo revealed that she has established her own one-person agency, named EMITHAUS. The name is inspired by the English word ‘emit’, meaning to express or release, reflecting her desire to explore new creative possibilities and artistic potential through her solo career.

Despite leaving the agency, Jihyo clarified that she will remain a member of TWICE and will continue all group activities. She described the group as an ‘irreplaceable part’ of her life and expressed her commitment to performing alongside her fellow members for years to come. She is the third member of TWICE to leave JYP Entertainment, following Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung earlier this year.
