Jim Al-Khalili to deliver Royal Institution Christmas Lectures on time

Professor Jim Al-Khalili has been announced as the 2026 lecturer for the Royal Institution’s CHRISTMAS LECTURES®. The series will focus on the science of time, exploring fundamental questions such as whether time has a direction, if the future is predetermined, and the possibility of time travel.

Al-Khalili is a distinguished theoretical physicist and science communicator. A professor at the University of Surrey, his research interests include nuclear reaction theory, quantum mechanics, and the arrow of time. He is a widely published author and a recipient of several honors, including an OBE and a CBE for his services to science.
