Jim Geoghan, co-creator of ‘Zack & Cody’, dies at 79

Jim Geoghan, the American screenwriter and producer best known as the co-creator of the Disney Channel series ‘The Suite Life of Zack & Cody’, has died at the age of 79. His death occurred on September 6 in Los Angeles, as confirmed by his daughter, Genevieve Geoghan.

Geoghan co-created the popular series with Danny Kallis. The show, which aired from 2005 to 2008, starred twins Cole and Dylan Sprouse and followed the lives of two brothers living in a luxury hotel. The production earned two consecutive Emmy Award nominations for Best Children's Program in 2007 and 2008.

Beyond his success with Disney, Geoghan had a long career in television and comedy. He began in the 1970s as part of the comedy trio ‘Divided We Stand’ and later contributed as a writer and producer to various programs, including ‘Three’s Company’, ‘Family Matters’, and ‘Silver Spoons’. He also worked in theater, notably with the Off-Broadway play ‘Only Kidding’.
