Jim James Announces New Solo Album and 2026 Acoustic Tour

Jim James, frontman of My Morning Jacket, released the title track “Wowed Out” ahead of his first solo album in eight years, scheduled for release on August 28. The album, produced by James himself, draws inspiration from Alice Coltrane’s spiritual recordings and features the earlier single “Come Again.”

To promote the record, James announced a limited solo acoustic tour beginning November 28 in Louisville, Kentucky, with additional dates in Chicago, New York, Boston, Boulder, Los Angeles and other U.S. cities. A portion of ticket proceeds will support The Ally Coalition and Arthur’s Earth Sanctuary, organizations that aid LGBTQ youth.

The tour and album are positioned as an intimate, psychedelic‑folk journey rather than a conventional rock spectacle, with James emphasizing a focus on mood and texture over dramatic choruses.
