Jim Jarmusch releases visuals for new film ‘Father Mother Sister Brother’

Director Jim Jarmusch has released character visuals and director comments for his latest film, ‘Father Mother Sister Brother’. The film, which won the Golden Lion at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, is a trilogy set across three different cities.

The narrative is divided into three segments: a story in New Jersey involving a retired father played by Tom Waits and his children played by Adam Driver and Maimun Bialik; a segment in Dublin featuring a strict mother played by Charlotte Rampling and her daughters played by Cate Blanchett and Vicky Krieps; and a segment in Paris following twins played by Luca Sabato and Indya Moore.

Jarmusch described the work as a type of ‘anti-action film’ characterized by a quiet, observational style. He noted that while the film is essentially a comedy, it is infused with a sense of melancholy, drawing inspiration from masters like Yasujirō Ozu and Robert Bresson.
