Jimena Domínguez competes for 2028 Olympic qualification

Venezuelan rhythmic gymnast Jimena Domínguez is competing in the 42nd Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships held in Frankfurt, Germany, from August 13 to August 16, 2026. Competing in the senior individual category alongside Russian coach Elena Nikolashkina, Domínguez is seeking one of three direct qualification spots for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games in the individual all-around competition.

Under the tournament format, qualification spots are awarded to the National Olympic Committees of the three highest-ranking gymnasts, with a limit of two quotas per country. Domínguez enters the competition following a silver medal performance in the individual team modality at the Central American and Caribbean Games, alongside teammates Luciana Caraballo and Alejandra Montilla.
