Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht appeals fraud conviction in Austria
German actor and musician Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht has filed an appeal against a fraud conviction issued by the Innsbruck Regional Court. The appeal, filed on the grounds of “nullity and punishment,” will now be reviewed by the Innsbruck Higher Regional Court.
The conviction stems from an unpaid hotel bill totaling approximately 14,000 euros from a stay in Tyrol, Austria, in late 2021. Ochsenknecht was sentenced to a fine of 34,500 euros. While the defense argues there was no intent to defraud and that the defendant had sufficient funds at the time, the court characterized the situation as a “deceptive maneuver.”
The bill was eventually settled in the summer of 2025, funded by Ochsenknecht’s former partner, Yeliz Koc. Following a previous arrest in Hamburg in June 2025, Ochsenknecht was extradited to Austria. After accounting for previous payments and fines, the remaining balance to be paid if the verdict stands is 6,742 euros.
