Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht discusses fatherhood and childhood fears
Actor and musician Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht recently shared personal reflections during various media appearances. In an interview on ‘Sky Talk’ with Patrice Bouédibéla, the 34-year-old evaluated different aspects of his life using a school grading system. He gave himself an ‘A with an asterisk’ as an entertainer, a ‘two’ as a friend and partner, and a ‘three minus’ regarding his performance as a father. His self-assessment as a father, noting he co-parents his daughter Snow with ex-partner Yeliz Koc, drew a supportive comment from Diana Emmer, who rated him an ‘A+’ on social media.
In a separate appearance on the podcast ‘Mit den Waffeln einer Frau’ with Barbara Schöneberger, Ochsenknecht discussed a childhood experience in South England that continues to affect him. He described waking up in a hotel room as a boy and believing he saw a young girl in a bathroom mirror, an event that caused him significant panic. To manage this lasting fear, he has developed specific routines when staying in hotels, such as ensuring lights remain on or using luggage to cover mirrors to avoid similar unsettling experiences.
