Jimmy Barnes to headline Sounds By The River 2027 festival in Mannum, South Australia

Australian rock legend Jimmy Barnes has been announced as the headliner for the Sounds By The River 2027 festival, which will take place on Saturday 9 January 2027 at the Mannum Golf Club on the banks of the Murray River.

The all‑Australian bill also includes Jon Stevens (performing material from Noiseworks and INXS), Birds Of Tokyo, Eskimo Joe, Baby Animals, Chocolate Starfish and Sarah McLeod. Tickets go on general sale on Friday 7 August.

Sounds By The River has become a fixture of South Australia’s summer live‑music calendar, showcasing established rock, pop and alternative acts in an outdoor setting. Barnes, who released his 21st studio album Defiant in 2025 and marked the 40th anniversary of his classic For The Working Class Man, will join a line‑up that highlights the country’s enduring rock talent.
