Jimmy Buffett legacy honored with service day and tribute concerts

Various events and charitable initiatives are scheduled for Labor Day weekend to honor the legacy of singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett.

Margaritaville will host its third annual Jimmy Buffett Day on September 4. This brand-wide Day of Service involves volunteer work and fundraising across its resorts, restaurants, and cruises. The initiative supports the nonprofit Singing for Change, as well as various local charities focusing on animal welfare, veterans, and community support. Specific locations include Margaritaville Resort Orlando, which will benefit Give Kids The World Village, and Margaritaville Beach Cottage Resort Panama City Beach, which will support the United Way of Northwest Florida.

In Gainesville, Florida, the second annual ‘Jimmy Buffett Fest’ will take place on September 6 at Heartwood Soundstage. The tribute concert will feature local artists performing tropical-inspired music. The event aims to raise funds for the Save the Manatee Club, a nonprofit co-founded by Buffett to protect manatees and their habitats.
