Jimmy Carr headlines first stand‑up show in Croatia’s Pula Arena
British stand‑up comedian Jimmy Carr performed a show titled “Jimmy Carr laughs funny” at the ancient Roman Pula Arena in Croatia, becoming the first comedian to stage a stand‑up routine in the historic amphitheatre. The venue, which has hosted gladiatorial contests, film evenings and concerts for centuries, was filled with a large audience for Carr’s English‑language performance.
During the show Carr addressed a range of controversial subjects, including abortion, homosexuality, violence against women and race, using his characteristic provocative humor. He interacted with the crowd, joked about a “cancel culture” test, and shared spontaneous moments with local comedian Vinča, who appeared in the front rows.
