Jimmy Wales launches Italian book tour in Fano

Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation, will present his new book *Le 7 regole della fiducia* in Fano on 20 August. The event marks the first stop of his Italian book‑tour and is organized by the Comune di Fano together with the city library system and Wikimedia Italia.

The presentation will be held at the former Church of San Francesco at 18:00, preceded by an edit‑athon at the Mediateca Montanari‑Memo at 15:00. Mayor Luca Serfilippi will open the ceremony, and professor Alessandro Bogliolo of the University of Urbino will join Wales in a discussion on digital trust, information quality and collective responsibility. The book, published by Garzanti, explores how trust can be built in the digital age.

Wales’ visit is intended to highlight Fano’s role as a cultural hub where libraries, technology and civic engagement intersect, and to encourage participants to contribute to Wikimedia projects.
