Jičín continues land auctions for new residential district

The city of Jičín is continuing its auction process for land parcels intended for the development of a new residential district in a former barracks area. The initial auction phase saw unexpectedly low interest, with none of the five parcels designated for family houses being sold on the first day.

The project aims to transform approximately ten hectares into a new neighborhood featuring roughly 200 apartments. The city has invested approximately 274 million CZK into the necessary infrastructure and relies on these land sales to recoup a portion of those costs.

Auctions for family house plots are scheduled to continue through early September, with prices starting at 6,560 CZK per square meter. Additionally, four plots designated for apartment buildings are up for auction, with minimum prices set at 11,000 CZK per square meter, totaling approximately 82.5 million CZK per plot. If current auctions fail, the city may postpone further attempts until spring 2027.
