Jincheon County expands population policies to attract students and youth
Jincheon County is expanding its population policies to combat regional extinction and population decline. The county will introduce new subsidies aimed at attracting students and supporting young residents.
To prevent the outflow of school-aged children and the subsequent reduction of school classes, the county will provide a one-time relocation subsidy of 200,000 KRW to elementary, middle, and high school students who move to Jincheon from other municipalities after September 18, 2026. Eligible students must have been registered in another municipality for at least one year prior to moving.
Additionally, the county is launching a relocation support program for young adults to encourage stable settlement. Non-homeowning heads of households aged 19 to 39, with an income at or below 180% of the median income, can receive up to 500,000 KRW to cover moving expenses and real estate brokerage fees. This support is available once in a lifetime for those who register their move to Jincheon after September 18, 2026.
