Jincheon County to implement AI and IoT safety systems at Nongdari
Jincheon County has been selected for the Ministry of Science and ICT’s ‘2027 Smart Village Dissemination and Expansion Project.’ The initiative will implement an AI and IoT-based smart safety management system around the Nongdari and Mir 309 Suspension Bridge areas.
The project, totaling 1 billion KRW (including 700 million KRW in national funds), is scheduled to run from January to June 2027. Key features include an AI-driven pedestrian analysis system designed to detect emergencies such as falls, sudden collapses, or unauthorized movement.
To mitigate flood damage, a smart parking system will be introduced to send real-time text alerts to vehicle owners if flooding risks are detected. Additionally, a floating population analysis system will track tourist movement and congestion to assist in emergency evacuation guidance during disasters like floods or wildfires. The county plans to integrate these technologies with existing CCTV platforms and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s vehicle management system for centralized oversight.
