Jindaiji Temple to be featured on NHK's Buratamori

The NHK travel and variety program ‘Buratamori’ will feature Jindaiji Temple in Chofu, Tokyo, in its broadcast on August 29, 2026. The episode explores the area's 1,300-year history and its natural landscape, which has gained popularity among younger generations.

Host Tamori and announcer Mana Sato will examine various historical and geological aspects of the site, including the origins of the famous Jindaiji soba noodles, mysteries surrounding large statues from the Kamakura period, and the value of national treasure Buddhist statues. The program will also highlight a popular nearby attraction that receives one million visitors annually.
