Jinder Mahal clarifies WWE contract terms and future plans

Professional wrestler Raj Dhesi, known in the ring as Jinder Mahal, has provided clarification regarding the contractual terms used by WWE following his departure from the company. Dhesi addressed the common perception of a ‘90-day non-compete clause,’ arguing that the term is misleading.

According to Dhesi, the period is not a post-employment ban, but rather a standard notice period. When a talent is released, they remain under contract and continue to receive pay for 90 days. The employment relationship only officially ends once this period expires, at which point the wrestler is free to work for other promotions. He noted that this differs from contracts that reach their natural expiration date, which allow for immediate movement to new companies.

Regarding his professional future, Dhesi has not ruled out a return to WWE. However, he stated that any future engagement would require a clearly structured creative concept and long-term planning for his role, noting that he will no longer accept contracts without concrete creative involvement. He is currently working in independent leagues and various projects outside of the wrestling industry.
