Jindřichův Hradec castle brewery completes major reconstruction

The historic castle brewery in Jindřichův Hradec has undergone a massive reconstruction following years of decay and damage. After production ceased in 1967, the site served primarily as storage before falling into disrepair. A major fire in September 2011 caused significant damage to the roof and historical structures.

The municipality of Jindřichův Hradec purchased the complex in 2016 for 7.8 million CZK. The subsequent revitalization project involved total costs exceeding 500 million CZK. Funding was secured through various sources, including nearly 165 million CZK from the State Investment Support Fund, over 66 million CZK from the Ministry of Industry and Trade for brownfield regeneration, and a 300 million CZK loan to be repaid by 2039.
