JINGDONG Property and Power Electronics announce major industrial expansions
JINGDONG Property, the investment arm of JD.com, has signed an agreement with the KEZAD Group to establish an advanced logistics facility in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The project, located in KEZAD Al Ma’mourah, will consist of approximately 150,000 square metres of warehousing. Expected to be delivered in 2028, the facility will utilize smart automated warehousing and digital technologies to support regional and global supply chains. The development is projected to create roughly 1,000 direct jobs in logistics, distribution, and administration.
In the United States, energy conversion firm Power Electronics has broken ground on a 53-acre industrial campus in Houston, Texas. The facility aims to provide up to 40 GW of annual production capacity for solar inverters, which convert direct current from solar panels and batteries into alternating current for the electrical grid. The 850,000-square-foot site will include buildings for logistics and electronics manufacturing and is expected to create more than 400 new jobs in the Houston area.
