Jingye Group invests $700 million in Chinese metal 3D printing factory
A subsidiary of the Chinese steel group Jingye has signed an agreement with the government of Fengshun County in Guangdong Province to construct a precision metal parts production site. The investment, totaling approximately RMB 5 billion (around $700 million), will be executed in two phases.
The facility plans to utilize 400 metal 3D printers, 100 metal injection molding (MIM) lines, and 20 metal powder production lines. This integrated approach allows the site to control its own feedstock. Initial production will focus on components for smartphones, such as hinges for foldable screens and camera modules, before expanding into robotics, medical devices, and liquid cooling components.
Construction is currently underway, with partial production expected before the end of 2026. Once at full capacity, the site is projected to generate an annual output of RMB 10 billion and create more than 1,000 jobs.
