JinkoSolar to unveil unprecedented new solar cell technology

JinkoSolar is set to unveil a new solar cell described as “unprecedented in the world” during its upcoming Global Technology Day (GTD) 2026. The conference is scheduled to take place from October 16–19 in Shanghai and Haining.

While specific technical details remain undisclosed, industry observers suggest the new technology may push the mass production limits of single-layer crystalline silicon cells. There is also market speculation that the company might present a prototype of its next-generation “stacked” architecture ahead of its expected 2029 launch. This architecture is considered a potential successor to current single-layer technology.

In addition to the new cell, JinkoSolar plans to present “Sunny 365,” an integrated photovoltaic-storage solution. The event will feature keynote speeches from newly appointed CEO Cao Haiyun and CTO Jin Hao, focusing on new materials, processes, AI, and quantum tools.
