Jinshanling Great Wall Trail Race: Kipngeno and Gitonga win

The Jinshanling Great Wall Trail Race, the seventh and final regular-season event of the Golden Trail World Series, took place on the Great Wall of China in the Yan Mountains. The 24-kilometer course featured 1,889 meters of elevation gain and technical terrain, including over 1,000 steep steps.

In the men’s race, Patrick Kipngeno secured his sixth victory in GTWS races held on Asian soil. Philemon Kiriago performed strongly in the scoring segments, winning both the uphill and sprint segments to collect bonus points for the overall standings.

In the women’s competition, Ruth Gitonga achieved her first Golden Trail World Series victory following a strong comeback. The results intensify the competition for the overall series title ahead of the Grand Finale scheduled to take place in Muju, South Korea.
