Jintimani Kalita selected for India Women’s T20I squad

Jintimani Kalita has received her maiden selection for the Indian Women’s T20I squad for the upcoming Zimbabwe Tour of India 2026. A right-arm medium-fast bowler and left-hand batter from Assam, Kalita is the second woman cricketer from the state to be selected for the Indian senior women’s team.

The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) issued a statement congratulating Kalita on her achievement. The T20I series, which includes three matches scheduled for October 16, 18, and 20 in Raipur, marks India Women’s first-ever bilateral international series against Zimbabwe, which will also feature three ODIs.

Smriti Mandhana will lead the T20I side, succeeding Harmanpreet Kaur, who stepped down from the captaincy on October 6. The squad includes players such as Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, and Richa Ghosh.
