Jio-bp and DRIVN partner to develop India commercial EV charging network

Jio-bp, a joint venture between Reliance Industries and bp, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with electric vehicle leasing platform DRIVN to develop charging infrastructure for commercial EVs across India.

The partnership aims to establish a commercial EV highway network specifically designed to support heavy-duty fleets, including trucks and buses. By integrating Jio-bp’s fast-charging network with DRIVN’s leasing platform, the companies intend to improve charging-location discoverability for fleet drivers along major national corridors.

Key aspects of the collaboration include exploring preferential tariffs and turnkey EV charging projects in identified cities and highways. The initiative aligns with India’s PM E-DRIVE initiative to accelerate the transition toward cleaner transport systems by addressing the specific operational needs of long-haul commercial vehicle operators.
