Reliance Jio's Q1 profit surge lifts shares, drives market rally and streaming growth
Reliance Jio's parent, Jio Platforms Ltd., reported FY27 Q1 results with net profit rising 9.2% YoY to ₹7,764 crore and revenue crossing ₹45,960 crore, a 12% increase. EBITDA grew 15.1% to ₹20,865 crore and ARPU reached ₹215.6 per month. Jio Financial Services posted a consolidated net profit of ₹830 crore, up 156% YoY, with revenue tripling to ₹2,004 crore and assets under management climbing to ₹30,667 crore. The JioStar media arm posted a record‑breaking quarter, generating INR 10,946 crore ($1.14 billion) in revenue, a 14% YoY rise, and reporting 530 million monthly active users on its streaming platform. The Indian Premier League attracted a combined 1.2 billion viewers, 700 million of them digitally, cementing JioStar’s position as the top‑watched T20 tournament.
