Jio Platforms and Paras Healthcare set to launch IPOs amid Indian market holidays

The Indian stock market faces a significant week characterized by upcoming holidays and major initial public offerings (IPOs). Due to the Dussehra festival, the BSE and NSE will be closed on October 20, resulting in only four trading days between October 19 and October 25. While equity, derivative, and commodity trading will be suspended on the holiday, the MCX is expected to remain operational during its evening session.

Two major IPOs are scheduled to open from October 21 to October 23: Jio Platforms and Paras Healthcare. Jio Platforms, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries, has set a price band of ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share for its ₹30,123 crore issue. Early interest in the Jio IPO is exceptionally high, with preliminary demand from global institutional investors—including GIC, Norges Bank Investment Management, and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority—estimated at approximately ₹2.5 lakh crore, which is over eight times the issue size.

Paras Healthcare is also launching an IPO valued at ₹1,450 crore, with a price band of ₹660 to ₹693 per share. Both companies are seeing positive signals in the grey market, indicating potential listing gains for investors.
