Jio Platforms launches India's largest-ever IPO

Jio Platforms, a digital and telecommunications venture controlled by Reliance Industries, has launched India's largest-ever initial public offering (IPO). The company aims to raise up to ₹30,213 crore (approximately $3.2 billion) through the sale of 27 crore fresh equity shares. The IPO price band is set between ₹1,065 and ₹1,119 per share, which would value the company at approximately $108.3 billion at the upper limit.

Public bidding opened on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, and is scheduled to close on Friday, October 23. The offering saw rapid demand, with reports indicating the issue was fully subscribed within approximately 100 minutes of opening. Institutional investors, specifically Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs), showed significant interest, with some reports noting the QIB portion was subscribed multiple times within the first few hours.

The company plans to utilize up to ₹27,500 crore of the proceeds to repay or prepay debt of its telecom subsidiary, Reliance Jio Infocomm. Remaining funds are earmarked for general corporate purposes and capital investments. Jio Platforms serves over 500 million subscribers and manages nearly 60% of India's mobile data traffic. The company's shareholder base includes international investors such as Meta and Google.

Shares are expected to begin trading on October 28.
