Jio Platforms IPO to raise ₹30,213 crore following record anchor demand

Jio Platforms, the digital and telecom arm of Reliance Industries, is set to launch what is expected to be India’s largest initial public offering (IPO). The company has set a price band of ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share for its 270 million new equity shares, aiming to raise approximately ₹30,213 crore at the upper end. The IPO is scheduled to open for public subscription on 21 October and close on 23 October 2026.

The anchor book has seen unprecedented institutional interest, receiving bids exceeding ₹2.5 trillion—more than 30 times the allocated amount. Major participants include global asset managers like BlackRock, Fidelity, and JPMorgan, as well as sovereign wealth funds such as GIC and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. Domestically, the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) received the largest allocation, followed by various major mutual funds and pension funds.

The proceeds from the fresh issue are primarily intended to repay debt held by its subsidiary, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited. Analysts note that the company’s valuation is bolstered by its expansion into cloud computing, AI, and broadband services. If successful, the listing could significantly increase the market capitalization of the Reliance Group, potentially positioning it ahead of the Tata Group in terms of total market value.
