Jio Platforms prepares for massive October IPO

Jio Platforms, the digital and telecom holding company of Reliance Industries, is preparing for a major Initial Public Offering (IPO) expected to launch in October 2026. The offering could potentially raise approximately $3.8 billion, making it one of the largest public offerings in the Indian market.

Estimates suggest the company's initial valuation could range between $143 billion and $146 billion. The company plans to issue up to 27 crore new shares, representing about 2.9 percent of the company's total stake. Proceeds from the fresh issue are expected to be used to repay or prepay borrowings of Reliance Jio Infocomm.

Jio Platforms has already conducted investor meetings in major financial hubs, including the US, UK, Dubai, Hong Kong, and Singapore, receiving positive feedback from foreign investors. Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani participated in these international roadshows. SEBI has previously issued final comments on the IPO documents, marking a significant regulatory milestone.

As of March 2026, Jio's customer base reached 524.4 million, driven by its 4G and 5G networks. The company is also expanding its footprint in broadband, cloud services, and artificial intelligence.
