JioHotstar expands internationally to UK, Canada, and Singapore

JioHotstar, a streaming platform resulting from the merger of JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar, has officially launched in the United Kingdom, Canada, and Singapore. The service replaces the existing Hotstar app in these regions, offering a new dedicated application designed to serve the South Asian diaspora and global audiences interested in Indian content.

The platform provides over 160,000 hours of entertainment across more than 12 Asian languages, including films, television shows, anime, and original programming such as ‘Ali Baba Aur Chaalis Bhoot’ and ‘The Court’. A major feature of the launch is the interactive capabilities for the reality franchise ‘Bigg Boss’, which allows viewers in the three new markets to participate in live voting. Subscribers in the UK and Canada also gain access to a 24/7 live feed.

JioHotstar is introducing new subscription models in these markets, including quarterly and annual plans. In the UK, quarterly plans are priced at GBP 19.99 and annual plans at GBP 69.99. Canada offers quarterly plans for CAD 19.99 and annual plans for CAD 49.99, while Singapore features quarterly plans at SGD 29.98 and annual plans at SGD 69.98. Existing Hotstar subscribers can transition to the new service using their current credentials.
