Jishan District officials meet to prepare for new school year

Sheikh Hussein Ahmed Ali Heit, the Director General of Jishan District and Chairman of the Local Council, chaired an educational meeting to discuss preparations for the 2026/2027 academic year. The meeting included the Director of the Education Office, school principals, and various department heads to ensure readiness for the start of classes according to the ministerial calendar.

During the discussions, Awad Mohammed Lashraf, the Director of the Education Office in the district, highlighted several critical challenges facing the sector. These include the low living standards and reduced salaries of teachers, as well as the deprivation of certain financial entitlements such as allowances and settlements.

Additionally, the meeting addressed a severe shortage of teaching staff in most district schools and a significant lack of textbooks, a problem that has persisted for several academic years. Officials emphasized the importance of community coordination and the role of parent councils to encourage student enrollment from the first day of school.
